{1} What would you do with an extra $1000 a month?
An extra $1000 a month??? I really wouldn't know how to act, but on a serious note I would buy my son a car, I would also start paying off items to clean up my credit report.

{3} What is your go to solution when you are having a bad hair day?

by pulling the front up in a clip, since I have had it cute Its to short to pull it all up. OMG that so reminds me I have to put up my hair makeover post.

I would want to be a hot pink, I think pink makes people happy.

{5} They say love is in the little things. What is a little thing someone does to show you love?

Even though I say it drives me crazy but when my dad calls me 10 times a day to tell me the simplest things like he stubbed his toe.

When Paul helps my dad around the house with repairs, my dad went Legally blind a few years ago so its hard for him to do things. Paul knows its hard on my dad not to be able to do simple things so he lets my dad help even though sometimes he is making more of a mess.

Happy Bithday To My Son

I don't want to get all emotional on you so I am gonna share a few photos of my little boy who turned 17 today. A lot of you have little ones so just remember to cherish every moment because before you know it, they will be getting their license and entering their Senior year in high school.

Friday Confessional

I Confess I am so behind at work, I am going on vacation next week and I don't have my project boards in tip top shape. I have had Bronchitis all week and I am trying to work as fast as I can but its a slow process.

I Confess I was a ~~little irritated~~ ok PISSED when the BF called last night on his lunch break and said he is going home early but going to the bar with the guys.

I Confess While getting a breathing treatment at the Dr. office the other day I bent over to get my purse and dropped the the mouth piece, which in turn fell off the tube. After putting it back together the nurse walks in and says with concern. "The Dr. put this together? She does it different." a few minutes later the nurse and Dr. walk in and the Dr. looks at me and says " did you drop this?" I think I turned a few shades of red as she was putting it back together the right way. OMG I put it together wrong.

I Confess I am to lazy to search for photos to use for this post. Sorry

Happy Friday !!! Today I am linking up with “Princess” Mamarazzi for Friday Confessional.

I confess, I am getting a little nervous about the hair makeover tomorrow. Should I really go that short? Hmmmm????

I confess, I have been telling everyone this horrible cough is allergies but really I am getting sick.

I confess, throughout the day’s I have been right on track with my healthy eating but go home can grab the bag of Doritos.

I confess, I have been spending my weekends in the sun not using sunscreen, I know this is so bad for my skin but growing up I never burned so it’s just not something I think about.

I confess, when the Employee of the month was announce at my office my first thought was, it’s about freaking time. 8 years of dedication and I am finally being recognized.

Man Candy Monday Featuring Adam Sandler

I have always liked Adam Sandler, but never really thought of him as "man candy". That is until I saw him in the movie Just Go With It. I am not sure what it was about him in this movie, that caught my eye.

After a little research I found some interesting facts about Adam.

Adam never prepares for his comedy acts. He always does them on the spot.
Though goofy as a child, Sandler never aspired to be a comedian until age 17 when his brother encouraged him to perform at a Boston comedy club.
Adam would rather work with close friends.

A Day With The Girls Is What I Need

Yes I am still here, I am sorry I have not been keeping up with my reading or posting. You see there has been a few tragic events that have happened recently and its just been hard for me to focus.

I am putting all that behind me and heading to Palm Springs for a little relaxation with the girls. Since my parents live out there I figured how can I pass up planning a girls day. So here is what I have planned for us.

Breakfast at the Farm House: I saw this place featured on the Food Network a while back and have always wanted to try it.

Peddie's: I can not wait to have someone rub my feet.
Followed by: laying by the pool, snacking, chatting and catching up on some overdue reading.

As I am slowly trying to get back into the swing of things and because I have missed all of you so freakin much I wanted to do something easy & fun. Linking up with the ever so lovlies Impulsive Addict, Janette, Mamarazzi and Seriously Shawn for We Want to Know Wednesday.

{1} What must you do before you go to bed at night?
I have to put lotion on my feet, one night I was so exhausted I couldn’t be bothered I woke up an hour later and lather up.

{2} What is one thing you must snack on at the theater?
Popcorn of course. My family loves popcorn so much a few years ago Santa brought us our very own popcorn maker

{3} Before going on vacation what must you do?
OH boy, I have to make sure everything is 100% clean, all the laundry is done and put away clean sheets are on the bed. This way when I get home I can just unpack and relax. I love coming home to a clean organized house.

{4} What is one thing you must do every day?
Shower and drink coffee. You really don’t want to be around me with out my coffee

{5} Is there something you do that must be done in a particular order?

It is said that anyone who folds a thousand origami cranes will be granted a wish.

I want to take this time to feature a very special little girl. Her name is Lizzie, she is 9 years old.

You see her little sister has to have her sugar levels checked in fear of diabetes. After hearing the news of a close friend who was diagnosed with Diabetes Lizzie decided she wants to help, raise money to find a cure.

For every dollar that is donated to Cranes 4 a Cure Lizzie will make a crane and put the name of the person who donated on the wing. Once she has collected $1000 she will string all the cranes together and give it to the Juvenile Diabetes foundation with all the money she has raised.

Confession Friday

I confess ~ I have been a bad blogger latley. Its not that I love blogging and all my bloggy friends, its just that I get burnt out never know what to write and feel disconnected.

I confess ~ I have been stalking my ex- sister-in-laws Facebook page just for a good laugh.

I confess ~ I am so over my neighbors and have been complaining about every little thing they do hoping to get them kicked out of my complex.

I confess ~ I spent most of my day at work surfing the web, however I did get my work done.

I confess ~ ever since I received the video of my son's performance for Boy's Hip Hop I have been watching it at least once a day.

Ok so now here is a HUGE confession.... I have been coming home from work sitting on the couch and watching TV all night until its bed time. Yes that means I am not working out

Sometimes it takes me a while. I tend to be shy at first but I open up when I get to know you

Be honest, loyal, and caring.

I am always there no matter what for any of my friends, even thought I might disagree with their decisions I try my best to give my support. I am very trustworthy and when we have an argument I will be the first to apologize.

4) Have you ever met a bloggy friend in real life?

NO but I am hoping Mamarazzi has a little time when she is in my area in June.

Hmmm this is a tough one, because I want to meet you all. Well of course Mamarazzi. Brandy from You Don’t Know, she is always making me laugh and her son is such a cutie. Ellen over at Fat Girl Wearing Thin, I was paired up with her for a swap, she is an amazing woman.

5) Who is your best friend? Tell us about them.

We met in 3rd grade she had just moved to California 2 weeks before I did and the teacher sat us next to each other. We have had many up’s and downs throughout the years but I love her with all my heart and she will always be the Bestest Friend to me.

Jennifer is my BFF from High School. Honestly I ~~won’t~~ can’t tell you how we first met, but I will say we have a lot of memories that make us laugh all the time. We are only 3 weeks apart, (yes I am older and she will never let me forget that) I don't know what I would do with out her.

Just a Bad Day

I try so hard to make this blog a fun uplifting place. So let me say sorry for being such a downer today.

You see I am just so upset by something that happened today. I can't give to many details as I know there are some people who might read my blog and turn things around.

I am so tired of not getting any support. Why do people seem to always blame me for the things that go wrong. Maybe one day they will see that I am one of the most devoted, & honest people they have.

Hoping one day I can tell these people you should have appreciated me a long time ago.

Well thanks for letting me vent. I do feel much better, I can always count on my bloggy friends!!

A Day Spent With Friends

A few weeks ago I headed to Los Angeles with my friend Jana and Flat Mamarazzi to meet Leeann. The weather was suppose to be rainy and cold but we lucked out and had a dry beautiful day.

First we headed up the the Griffith Observatory. Even though am terrified of hieghts I have to say the view was beautiful. We got to see the Hollywood Sign, and take a few picture with the famous Albert Einstien.

Next stop Santa Monica Pier. It was chilly but we enjoyed a walk to the end of the pier while we waited for our table at Bubba Gumps.

This year marks the 10th anniversary of Dale Earnhardt, Sr.’s crash that ended his life. In honor of the legendary driver, NASCAR organizers are holding a special Dale Earnhardt Tribute "silent lap 3" to remember the driver of the famous #3 car.

My family and I will be cheering our favorite drivers today as they race around the track. Here's to a great season.

Friday Confessional

I have a confession..........

On Wednesday my son took his behind the wheel test and he passed. I now have a licensed teenager and I am so freaked out. Yes so freaked out I actually lied to him and told him the insurance is not active until Friday just to give me a few days to let the reality set in. I feel like a horrible mom, and I don't know how to over come the fear.

Meatball Soup

Who doesn't love soup? Weather you are are sick or just want a comforting meal.

I received this recipe from a friend of mine. I hope you enjoy it as much as my family does.

Ingredients for soup

1/3 cup olive oil

1 stick butter

2 onions- sliced & quartered

2 carrots - sliced

2 celery stalks - sliced

4 medium potatoes - diced in large pieces

1/2 lb. fresh green beans - cut

1/2 small head of cabbage - thinly sliced

2 zucchini - sliced & halved

1 28 oz. can of diced tomatoes

6 cups of water

6 beef boullion cubes

1 can Vegetable broth

1 tsp. salt

1/2 tsp. pepper

Directions for Soup ( you will need a LARGE pot)

1. melt butter with olive oil over medium heat

2. add onions, carrots, celery, potatoes and green beans

3. stir to coat vegetables with butter & olive oil

4. Cook 20 mins., stirring occasionally

5. add water, bouillon cubes, vegetable broth, salt, pepper, cabbage, zucchini, and tomatoes with all their liquid

6. over high heat, bring to a boil, then stir

7. reduce heat to low, cover, & simmer 40 mins.

Ingredients for Meatballs

1 1/2 lbs. lean ground beef

1/3 cup Italian bread crumbs

1/2 tsp. garlic powder

Directions for Meatballs- Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees

1. mix ground beef, bread crumbs and garlic powder (with hands)

2. roll into meatballs

3. line cookie sheet with non - stick foil

4. bake meatballs at 350 for 1/2 hour

5. add meat balls to soup

6. simmer soup with meatballs additional 20 mins.

Happy Valentine's Day

I would like to wish each and everyone of you a very happy Valentine's Day!!! With the help of my 16 year old we have chosen a winner.

The comment we chose said "My mom deserves this because she's always busy taking care of my grandmother."

This has touched my heart in a special way. Growing up I remember helping my Mom & Grandma take care of my Great-Grandma until she was 100 years old. ( I really wish I could find the 3 generation picture to post).

Congratulations Lisa I have e mailed you for your mailing address. I hope your mom takes the time to enjoy her special gifts.

I know I have been MIA the past 2 weeks. With my son starting night school, and coming down with a cold that has now turned into a Sinus and Ear Infection, I just have not been in the blogging mood. The worst part about it is that my Google Reader shows I have 429 blogs to catch up on. 

 OMG!! How will I ever get caught up? Does this happen to any of you? If so I would really appreciate your tips on how to catch up. I will feel really bad just marking them all as read, but I might have to.

So the past few weeks have not been all that bad, I was actually awarded with 2 awards from 2 super sweet bloggers. 

Ellen over at Fat Girl Wearing Thin, presented me with the Irresistibly Sweet Blog Award. This was extra special because I received it on my birthday.

 I have to list 5 sinful indulgences.  

Getting my nails done, its just one of those things that I love doing for myself.
Coffee Mugs, I don't know what it is about them, I just love them no matter what size.
Pasta & Cheese ummm probably the reason why I need to loose so much weight.
Walking on the beach, its just seems so peaceful and all my problems go away for the moment.
Laying in the sun I know its bad for you but the feeling of the sun just soaking into my skin and the aftermath of that golden tan just makes me feel beautiful.

Make Yourself Accountable Not 2011

Why does it seem like the older I get the faster the year goes by? Well 2010 has past and now we enter 2011. A lot of people are posting statements like "2011 please bring me a better year", I actually jumped on the band wagon and thought the same thing. That is until my friend Leeann made this comment,

"A new year doesn't end life as we knew it. If you need to use it as a starting point, OK. But hold yourself accountable, not 2011."

She is so right! You are in control of your life not the year. So I say lets make it a great year by making yourself accountable. I have decided I am not making any resolutions this year. I am setting the following goals for myself. (it makes it less stressful)

Lose wieght
Have more patients
Blog more often
Have at least $1000 in my savings account by the end of the year
Read more

Weight Loss Journey

I am on the weight loss journey, its been about 8 weeks and I am down 15 pounds, I actually had to break down and buy new pants for work. All I am gonna say is 1 full size smaller. Yah for me! I really feel great.

The past 2 weeks have been a little rough and really haven't been on track. The good part is I have not gained. I am not sure what it is, but I have been having such a hard time getting up the energy to work out.

Hungry Girl & Yoplait's Fiber One Event

I had the chance to attend an event which featured 2 of my favorite things, Yoplait’s Fiber One, and Lisa Lillien, aka Hungry Girl.

When I first arrived Yoplait was handing out samples of their Fiber One yogurt. With 2 flavors to choose from I chose strawberry. This tasty snack is a delicious & good for you! Each snack has only 50 calories in each serving plus it is fat free with 5 grams of fiber. For those of you on Weight Watchers that means 0 points!

It was such a pleasure getting to meet Hungry Girl, While speaking with her explained I had a few medical problems, which now I have the green light to get back on track making myself healthy again. She told me that Weight Watchers is healthy and is easy to follow. Each of the Hungry Girl recipes include Weight Watchers POINTS.

HG really had a lot of fans show up and it was nice to see her take the time with each of them taking photos and signing autographs.

Not a Kindle Kind of Gal

I love reading books so thought I would purchase the Kindle, knowing how compact it was and how I could down load a book anytime, anywhere seemed so convenient. I have to say it works great and does everything it says it does. But I miss my books!

I don't know maybe its just me but reading books with the Kindle is just a little impersonal. I want the actual book with the colorful cover to sit on my coffee table. You don't know how many times I have mentioned to a friend that I am reading a great book, the sad thing is I can't share it with them because its saved on the Kindle.

Now don't get me wrong I am not saying I hate the Kindle because I don't. It does have its good qualities. When I am having one of those days that I just want some quiet time and head to the pool or to get a peddie. I am able to sit back and relax and the person next to me does not try to start a conversation about what I think of the book I am reading.

Beating The Heat

This week sure has been a scorcher! Today the temperature read 112 degrees. Hot days like this in California are a sure sign of wild fire, heat exhaustion, and some people even say earthquakes.

Please remember these hot days could be damaging to your health so here are a few survival tips:

Drink Plenty of water it is very important to stay hydrated
Never leave a child or pet in your car even if you just have to run into the store for a second
If you have a pet make sure they always have fresh water
Feel over heated take a cool bath or shower
Try not to over exert yourself outside, its best to do your outside work in the early morning when its cool
snack of frozen treats like Popsicles, or frozen grapes
Check out your local cool centers

Recovered and Feeling Great!

I have not fallen off the face of the earth. The past few months have been bumpy but I am now feeling great and back to the day to day grind!!! Its been so long that I have felt this wonderful, its like I am on the top of the world.

I want to thank all my friends and family for being so understanding in my time of need, if it wasn’t for them I am not sure how I would have gotten through it all.

Teenagers! What The Hell Is Wrong With Them?

Finally Half way through the week. I thought I would join the fun with the girls over at Blue Monkey Butt and post a What The Hell Wednesday. Here is a conversation with my son.

What happened to that cute little boy that was so affectionate????? Yes I am talking about my 15 year old son. When he was younger he was just the cutest kid ever, he would look at me and say "Mom, your my beeeeesssst Friend right"? I of course with my heart melting would say yes I'm your Beeeeeesssst Friend!!!! We use to sit on the couch and watch TV actually laugh together.

I signed him up for drivers ed a few weeks ago. This past Saturday he finished his last class and is now ready to take his permit test.

Me: Oh I made an appointment for you to take your permit test.

Andrew: (Cutting in before I am even finished) You did when?

Me: May 26th its the last day of school.

Andrew: THE LAST DAY OF SCHOOL!!!

Me: Yah sorry I tried every other DMV and all the appointments are after you come back from you dads, we have to go to Palm Springs. (For those of you who don't know its an hour from me)

Andrew: I really doubt that is the only appointment

Me: Excuse me if you keep up your attitude I will cancel it all together and you will just wait until August.

Andrew: WOW! MOM!!!!

I wanted to kill him at this point WHAT THE HELL! and had to just hang the phone up. I mean seriously how can he be so ungrateful? Later that night I explained to him the DMV nightmare, however he thinks I am just making up a story so I don't have to take him. WHAT THE HELL!!!!!

Sorry To Keep You Waiting

I know, I know I have been a major slacker when it comes to keeping my blog up to date. I have just been so consumed in personal issues that when it comes to turning on my computer I look the other way. So aside from all the drama I have done same fun things over the past few months.

I headed to Las Vegas for 311 Day with my blogging buddy and good friend Leeann over at Join The Gossip.

A relaxing day spent at Glen Ivy where I enjoyed a wonderful Glen Ivy Detox Package which included Sugar Scrub, Eucalyptus Body Wrap, and 30 minute Swedish Massage plus The Grotto Body Moisturizing.

Last but not least I saw the Eagles at the Hollywood Bowl. They are such an amazing band, I will be seeing them again in May....Can't wait!

So as you can see I have been pretty busy. Tonight I am so excited to say I have a cleaning lady coming over to give my place a good scrub yes I get to sit with my feet up while sipping on a nice cup of tea while someone else is cleaning my house. You tell me can it really get any better?

I Have Entered The World Of The BlackBerry

I have finally moved up a step and bought myself a BlackBerry. Honestly I could not be more happy it has everything! Not only can I update my facebook status I can check the traffic or the weather with a cool app called Where.

Talking with my friend over at Good Girl Gone Shopping, we can not understand how we ever managed to get through the day to day hustle and bustle without having such a wonderful devise.

Now I know a lot of you are fans of the I phone however if you are looking for a new phone with all the bells and whistles I suggest checking out the BlackBerry.

Setting Goals

I know I have been the worst when it comes to posting, things have just been crazy around here.

Lately I have been getting home from work and the couch is calling my name. I know its soooo bad, I have not even been to the gym...What is wrong with me????

Well I have decided this is it I need to get up off my butt and set some goals for myself. What better way to make sure I stick to them than to put them out there so everyone knows...

So here we go my goals for the next week

1. Drink more water

2. Do not use the Elevator at work

3. Pack my lunch everyday

4. Eat Breakfast ( I never do)

5. Post at least 1 blog per week ( have to start some where)

6. Try (yes I said try) to only eat 1200 calories per day

7. Do not sit down to watch TV until I have all my housework done and I have worked out for at least 30 minutes.

I am almost finished reading a great book

Super Bowl 2010

Growing up Super Bowl has always been a special day. Mom does not cook and we got to eat in the living room snacking of just about anything. Today I am headed over to a friends hoping to see the Saints beat the Colts & watching each quarter ends with a score corresponding to my number on the many football pools I have entered.

This year The Who will be performing the ever so famous half time show! Check it out and let me know how they compared to the past Super Bowls.

Feeling Like a Heiress

I have never been able to wear many perfumes, since I suffer from allergies. It seams that every time I like one and think I will be able to wear it, I get it home put it on and not minutes later I get a horrible headache.

Today while having coffee with a friend she introduced me to Paris Hilton’s Heiress fragrance. At first I was a little leery when I sprayed it, but within minutes I fell in love. I knew I better give it some time before I run off to make my purchase.

A few hours later I was not suffering, just enjoying the fruity floral sent. So I was off to my favorite make up supply store to pick up a bottle. How excited am I at the age of 36 I have finally found a wonderful scent that I can wear through out the day. Tell me what your favorite sent is .

A Little Color To Brighten The Day

After a long week of nothing but down pours, and tornado warnings. Today I was delighted to finally see a little blue sky. Along with that blue sky came a rainbow.

What a great way to end my day. Now I am off for a fun weekend with the girls! Hoping this ray of color will bring me some good luck!

Attitudes Salon Nominated For 2 Best of the Desert Awards!

Attitudes Salon in Apple Valley has been nominated for the 2009 Best of the Desert award. Salon owner Jennifer Vacarri sat down to chat with me about what makes the Salon so special.

Me: How long has Attitudes Salon been in Business?

Jennifer: We opened the salon in 2005.

Me: What do you enjoy most about owning your own salon?

Jennifer: The people it’s a joy coming to work each day knowing the people I see each day are like family.

Me: What makes Attitudes Salon different than other Salons?

Jennifer: We do a lot of charity work. We have sponsored a cut-a-thon, giving free haircuts. All tips and donations we received were given to the Hurricane Katrina Relief. We donate hair to Locks of Love and collected toys for our military troops and their families.

We are also starting a program after the first of the year where we send our hair clippings to Matter of Trust which is an organization that use the hair clippings for the environment to soak up oil from spills.

So there you have it folks, as you can see Attitudes Salon, in my opinion, stands out among all the others. I am super excited for them knowing firsthand how hard the staff works to make sure their customers come first!!!!

Thoughts From Cali is Born

Helping Those In Need

With the holidays quickly approaching most of us are running around like mad trying to get our parties' planned, house decorated, and buying gifts for our loved ones. Let's stop for a moment and remember the people that are less fortunate. For thanksgiving I arranged a canned food drive at the office, it was a success and all of us felt great knowing we were helping those in need.

Burlington Coat Factory is taking coat donations. They will take coats, hats, scarves, & gloves. The items will be donated to a local charitable organization. So lets clean out our closets and head over to a store near you.
